Stop the Excuses

Nothing kills success like excuses.  For most people that is their default mode, the path of least resistance, the easy way out.  Make an excuse.  Instead of being on time for work, we make excuses on why we are late.  We didn’t get the job because the person doing the hiring didn’t know what they were doing.  We can’t save money because our bills are so high.  Excuses, Excuses!  Some people the first response that comes out of their mouth in any situation is an excuse.  They have been making excuses for so long they are really good at it.  The problem is they do not realize that it is crippling their life. Excuses are holding them back from success and progress.

Successful people don’t make excuses, they take action and responsibility for the success of their life. Think of a successful person you know and you will find someone who makes very few excuses. The road to success is paved with action not excuses.  Excuses won’t get you anywhere.  Keep making excuses on why you can’t go for your dream job and you will stay at your dead-end job forever.  Keep making excuses about why you can’t get your finances in order and you will keep living paycheck to paycheck. Keep making excuses on why you can’t exercise or change your eating habits and you will continue to be overweight. The sooner you stop the excuses the sooner you will become successful.

Here is a challenge. For one day listen to your response to every person. See how many times you make excuses for things that happen. Then try for one solid day not to make any excuses all day long.  Then do it again the next day and then the next day and you will begin to lead an excuse free life.

Stop making excuses on why you are late to work and get up 15 minute earlier and be on time. Stop making excuses for your financial condition and stop spending more than you make. Stop blaming others for the problems you have created and take that “blame energy” and put it toward something that is constructive in your life.  You can make excuses or you can make progress.  Stop the excuses and make progress towards your successful life. Move forward, be better, stop the excuses and you can Be Successful!
